Howard Hartry, Inc. began as one of the first U.S. Customhouse brokers in the Los Angeles Harbor area over 70 years ago. Since this early beginning, our family-owned and operated business has been dedicated to efficiency, integrity and competitive pricing.
Working his way out of the Great Depression, Howard Hartry founded his customs brokerage with a sense of pride, built through strong relationships with businesses across Southern California and around the world. His son, Robert L. Hartry continued running the brokerage with a sense of dedication to the partnerships that his father had developed. And now, Bobby and Jennifer Hartry, the third generation, are leading Howard Hartry, Inc. alongside a team of skilled brokers and experts in customs brokerage and compliance. Together, this team has over 125 years collective experience not only working in brokerage, but specifically working with Howard Hartry, Inc. Their commitment and loyalty to the business is extraordinary - and it shows in their client service!
With well over half a century of experience, we’ve acquired a broad understanding of U.S. Customs regulations and practices and how they impact the warehousing and distribution of goods. We have an extensive background in all areas of brokerage including air, ocean, informal, quota, warehouse and foreign trade zone entries. We also specialize in warehousing, inventory management, logistics, distribution, importation and bonded transportation.
Howard Hartry, Inc. currently has offices located in San Pedro, CA, Wilmington, CA and City of Industry, CA., with more than 20 employees and over 40,000 square feet of warehouse space and Foreign Trade Zone. Through our network of industry contacts and associate warehouses we can provide our clients with additional storage space to fit their needs.
